Senior .NET Developer Connectivity (m/f/d)

About us

With more than 30 years of experience and customers around the globe, DiIT GmbH is a leading provider of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions for the wire processing industry. Our software supports thousands of users every day in successfully overcoming the challenges of their industrial environments.

We are part of the Komax Group, the global market leader in automated wire processing and a provider of standard machines as well as customized systems across all levels of automation. DiIT perfectly complements the Komax Group's portfolio by enhancing its end-to-end solutions with modern digital technologies and innovative software components.

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced .NET Developer to join our Connectivity Development Team and help design and implement a scalable platform that manages digital twins of production machines and acts as an intermediary layer between the digital and physical world.

You will work with both established system concepts and mature architectures, as well as new greenfield initiatives. While our solutions are currently deployed on-premises at customer sites, the transition to the cloud is already underway.

Direct machine connectivity is not your primary focus. Instead, you will develop the application layer that encapsulates connections to physical machines, routes requests, and reliably delivers responses back to consuming applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance scalable microservices using C#/.NET
  • Work with an existing digital twin concept by extending, maintaining, and improving its implementation
  • Implement routing logic for bidirectional communication between applications and machine connections
  • Operate and further develop the platform in on-premises environments while contributing to its cloud migration journey
  • Collaborate closely with software architects and the team responsible for direct machine connectivity
  • Conduct code reviews and create technical documentation

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a comparable qualification
  • 6+ years of experience in backend development with C#/.NET
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA and MQTT
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservice architectures
  • Experience with on-premises deployments and basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience working with existing codebases and mature software architectures
  • Sound knowledge of asynchronous, event-driven communication patterns (message queues, event streaming)

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital twin concepts and platforms
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS / Event Sourcing

Our Offer

  • A responsible position with a high degree of autonomy and creative freedom
  • A dynamic and international working environment
  • State-of-the-art workplace equipped with modern technology and tools
  • Flexible working models
  • 30 days of annual leave
  • Company pension scheme
  • Supplementary private health insurance
  • Employer contribution towards childcare costs
  • Attractive bicycle and e-bike leasing program
  • Individual training and professional development opportunities
